Jeffrey N. Vanover is the Founder and Managing Director of OakStreet Capital Management, an independent wealth management and advisory firm based in Houston, serving high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held entities with a focus on disciplined portfolio management, long-term capital stewardship, and thoughtful financial planning.

Throughout his career spanning over 25 years of experience across financial markets, Jeffrey has guided clients through multiple market cycles, emphasizing risk management, clarity of decision-making, and the long-term alignment of capital with client objectives and values. He has built and led investment platforms serving multi-generational families, executives, and closely held entities.

Following ten years of wealth management and executive leadership, Jeffrey founded OakStreet Capital Management, a financial advisory and private wealth management firm in Houston, TX, where he served as Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for 5 years. In 2019, OakStreet Capital Management was acquired by HilltopSecurities, Inc. a Texas-based, leading public finance, municipal underwriting, wealth management, municipal investment bank, and the third largest clearing firm in the U.S. Prior to founding OakStreet Capital Management in 2014, he held senior leadership roles at Ameriprise Financial, including Managing Director and lead portfolio manager of a private wealth practice, as well as Manager of the Advanced Advisor Group and Field Vice President in the Gulf States region.

OakStreet Capital Management was founded with a simple but enduring belief: expected investment outcomes are the result of discipline, clarity, and long-term thinking—especially during periods of uncertainty.

“Over more than two decades in financial markets, I have seen how short-term noise, misaligned incentives, and reactive decision-making can erode even the best intentions. My lifelong relationship with equity markets began in the throes of the Dot-Com boom and bust era, followed shortly after by the Great Financial Crisis. My early experiences and successes that emerged have shaped the direction of the enduring processes we continue to execute today."

“My work centers on helping individuals and families think clearly about capital, manage risk thoughtfully, and align financial decisions with long-term goals and values."

Mr. Vanover led the firm’s return to private, independent ownership alongside its longstanding and tenured team. This transition reflects a strategic commitment to independence, flexibility, and maximum alignment with client objectives.

“Looking back over the last 25 years working in and across financial markets and advisory leadership roles, I remain convinced that independence of thought and clarity of purpose are essential to strong client outcomes. I founded OakStreet in 2014 to build an investment and advisory firm that places stewardship of capital above all else—one that values thoughtful process, risk awareness, and alignment with the long-term goals of the individuals and families we serve.”
